Oracle and Power BI Write-Back

image Power ON is now supporting write-back from Power BI directly to an Oracle DB.

The Table Editor custom visual has proven to be a powerful solution for companies that are deploying Power BI.

Via the Visual Planning WebService, the table editor can now write to any Oracle database.

Here is how it works:

  • Create a Power BI Desktop Workbook by connecting it to the Oracle Server
  • Install the Power On Webservice on-premises or in the cloud.
  • Connect the Table Editor Custom Visual to the Webservice.
  • Share the Workbook, and anybody with a license can write back to the Oracle database. The admin will control what data is read-only and what is editable.

 

Update:
Visual Planning now also supports write-back to SAP HANA, Teradata and Impala/Hadoop from Power BI
